Self-Guided Kayaking on the Weeki Wachee River The Kayak Shack sits directly on the Weeki Wachee River at 5414 Darlene St, where paddlers launch straight from the shop's own dock — no bus, no shuttle, no waiting for a group. Rent a single kayak, a tandem (double) kayak, a canoe, or a stand-up paddleboard, and set your own pace on Florida's Nature Coast. Self-guided launches run daily between 8am and noon, and every vessel needs to be back at the dock by 5pm, giving paddlers a full day on the water without a scheduled return time. Our Story The Kayak Shack has operated on the Weeki Wachee River since 2009, founded by local owners Jonathan and Amber Cone. For years, the business ran shuttle-based tours up to the Weeki Wachee headspring and Buccaneer Bay. When Weeki Wachee Springs State Park changed its regulations for outfitters operating at the headspring, The Kayak Shack restructured around a simpler model: every trip now launches and returns from the shop's own private dock downriver, keeping the whole experience in the owners' hands from check-in to check-out. What We Offer Rentals include a single kayak or paddleboard, or a tandem kayak for two paddlers, with a life jacket, vessel and oars (or paddle), launch fees, and free parking all included in the price. Reservations aren't required for standard rentals, but they're recommended during the busy season from March through September. The shop is open seven days a week, 8am to 5pm, and accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover, debit, and cash. Because launches happen from the shop's private dock rather than a public ramp, outside kayaks and canoes can't be launched here — rentals are for gear rented on-site. Who It's For The self-launch, no-reservation-required format suits first-time visitors, families, and locals who want to paddle on their own schedule rather than book into a fixed tour time. Because trips are self-guided rather than captain-led, paddlers who want a fully narrated wildlife tour should confirm current tour availability directly with the shop before planning around one. On the River The Weeki Wachee River is spring-fed, clear, and calm, with no rapids, which makes it approachable for paddlers of most experience levels. The river is also part of a protected manatee habitat, and Hernando County's springs are a well-known winter refuge for manatees, who move into the warmer, spring-fed water as Gulf temperatures cool — roughly November through March is the strongest window for sightings. The Kayak Shack asks every paddler to follow its posted Rules of the River before launching: give manatees plenty of space, never chase, feed, or touch them, and keep noise and splashing to a minimum around them. Well-behaved, leashed pets are welcome on the water. Weekends can bring more boat traffic from motorized craft sharing the river, so paddlers who prefer a quieter trip may want to plan a weekday visit. Before You Go Because the address sits right on the Spring Hill/Weeki Wachee line, GPS apps sometimes route more reliably to "Spring Hill, Florida" than to "Weeki Wachee" — worth keeping in mind when you're mapping the drive. An on-site gift shop stocks river-day basics and souvenirs, and the Upper Deck Restaurant sits right next door for a meal before or after your trip. Call ahead or check the website for current availability, especially heading into a weekend in peak season.

A garage door specialist that both fits and repairs doors and supplies the doors and hardware itself, which means the door, the parts, and the labor to install them come from one company rather than a separate showroom and a separate installer. The work spans the full life of a garage door, from a fresh installation through the repairs it needs down the road.

Overhead Door Company of Greenville runs out of Simpsonville and covers both ends of the garage door business: supplying new doors and handling the service and repair work on doors already in place. For a homeowner, that means the same company that sells you a door can come back to fix it later, instead of lining up one shop for the purchase and another for the repairs.

Garage door installation, repair, and maintenance around the west side of Greenville, covering the jobs a door tends to need over its life: replacing broken or worn springs, repairing and replacing openers, and getting doors that have come off their tracks or stopped closing properly back in working order.

Access covers both ends of garage door work: selling and installing new doors and openers, and fixing the ones already in place when a spring snaps, a cable frays, or an opener stops responding. It works with homeowners across Greenville and the surrounding Upstate.
